About My New Interest

At school I didn't have astronomy so my knowleges about space was badly. No, they was zero...Until nowdays...
My husband likes science TV programs very much. Especially about space. If he had any oppotunity to look at our Solar sistem throug telescope he used it! But I didn't understand nothing and I was very ashemed about this. So, I decided to surprise him. One day I learned some information and asked my husband examened me. He was proud of me)))
Look at the pictures! It is an amazing! There is our The Solar Sistem which comprise to The Milky Way Galaxy (as chocolate bar from our childhood). It includs central star The Sun and 8 planetes which shares on 2 groups.

Earth group includes Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Their atmosphere consist of silicates and metals. The second group - called Gas/Ice Gigants - includes much bigger planets which consist of gas - Jupiter, Saturn, Uran and Neptune.
Earlier was 9 planets. But in 2006 Pluto has been excluded because conception "planet" has changed. Now Pluto is minor-planet.
7 planets named as Greece or Rome Gods. And 1 - Venus - as Goddess)))
Mercury is the nearest planet from The Sun. Neptune is the farthest planet from The Sun.
Mercury and Venus doesn't have any satellites. The Earth satellite is Moon. Jupiter has 67 satellits. One of the most popular Jupiter satellit is Europe. It is biggest satellite was explored by Galileo Galiley. Now scientists believes that on Europe might be life as on Earth because Europe covered by million km ice ocean.

Another scientist - Nicolaus Copernicus - Polish astronomer who is author of Heliocentric system. He explored that The Sun is central object. Before Copernicus people believed in opposite system - Geocentric system - The Sun and other space objects turn around Earth. In Lviv is street named by Nicolaus Copernicus.

It is very interesting that 6 planets turn around its axises at the same derection as The Sun. But Venus turnes at the opposite side. And Uranus turns around its axis as "lying on its side".
Maybe now I would be interested by Interstellar or Gravity. And maybe I had anoter one dream...

What kind of mark you can get me?

AND when you look at the photo, does it look better than real life? I they do, probably not so much as in the video HERE
P.S. Which episode from the video do you find most funny and true to life?

Funny Story

In one beautiful day I and my friend going to robed our friend house. We went to house and infiltrated here over the fence. We got to the house through a window and were in the kitchen. But suddenly I saw a big dog and parrot here. We are very afraid of dog while he lied still. Next 5 minutes we stayed still. Parrot constantly repeated one words. So we went to the kitchen and ate food which we took without permission. Next my friend went to the parrot and told him «From you any good there. We robbed your house and you don’t do anything». Parrot said «Fas» and dog attacked us. We run as soon as we can.
Do you really think this story is in my life? Of course no) It is story of Eralash.

Easter

I congratulate all  people who are celebrating Easter today!
I suggest to read about the British Easter traditions and a recipe of festive cake  from Jamie Oliver.
In the UK, schools close for two weeks at Easter time. Read on to find out more about how Easter is celebrated in Britain.

What does it mean?

Easter is a spring festival of new life. As a pagan tradition it is the beginning of growth and new life after the cold, winter months. The name comes from the Anglo-Saxon goddess of the dawn and spring - Eostre. For Christians, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and practising Christians attend special church services at Easter time. Easter celebrates life and rebirth, which is why we see lots of symbols of new life and fertility at Easter, like eggs, chicks and rabbits.

When is it?

Unlike Christmas, Easter isn’t on the same date each year. It takes place on the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. Schoolchildren and students in the UK have a two-week holiday at Easter time which is almost as long as the Christmas holiday. It’s also the first public holiday after Christmas and everyone looks forward to their Easter break as a moment to relax, have a short holiday or visit family and friends.

Chocolate eggs

For most British children, Easter means chocolate Easter eggs. The shops are full of bright Easter displays decorated with chicks, rabbits and flowers, all with the objective of selling chocolate eggs in huge numbers. And it works! 90 million chocolate eggs are sold in the UK each year, and each child receives on average eight chocolate eggs. The eggs are sold in cardboard boxes and sometimes there’s more packaging than chocolate!  Some people believe that too much chocolate is eaten at Easter time and most doctors and dentists would advise people to eat Easter eggs in moderation.

Other 'egg-straordinary' traditions

In the UK, chocolate is definitely the most popular way to enjoy eggs at Easter. But there are some less sugary traditions, too. Chickens’ eggs are painted and decorated to give as presents, and eggs are also hidden for children to find as part of an 'egg hunt'. Some places even hold competitions to see who can roll an egg down a hill without it breaking! Hot cross buns are typical cakes that are made at Easter time. They are like spiced bread rolls with raisins and they always have a cross shape on top. They are delicious served hot with butter.

Easter eggs are special eggs that are often given to celebrate the Christian holiday of Easter. Sometimes they are made out of chocolate. Have you ever eaten an Easter egg? Watch this video to find out how they are made.

About Wishes...

A travelling salesman, a secretary and a manager went to have lunch and found an antic lamp. They rubbed it and a genie jumped out of the lamp. He said: "I'll do one wish for each of you." "I'll be the first! I'll be the first!" - said the secretary. "I want to be in the Bahamas, sailing on the speedboat and relaxing"  She disappeared in the next moment. "Now I want! Now I want!" - said the traveling salesman. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach, with an endless supply of Pina colada and love of all my life!" One second passed and he disappeared too. "Now it is your turn" - genie said to the manager. "I want them back to work after the lunch".
The moral of the story: let your boss be the first to say what he wants.

Old England

In the late 1920s and early 1930s National Geographic sent photographer Clifton R. Adams to England to record its farms, towns and cities, and its people at work and play.
Only, Adams happened to record it all in color using the Autochrome process.
The Autochrome was the foremost color photographic process of the day, since it was first brought to market by the Lumière brothers in 1907. The core ingredient? Potatoes. Tiny grains of dyed potato starch, around 4,000,000 per square inch, coated a glass plate. The gaps between the grains filled with lampblack, and the coated layer allowed the exposure to capture a color image.
In 1928 England, farming was a very significant part of life, with men and women employed in the fields. In fact, many of Adams' autochromes show women. That year British women attained full voting equality with men, via the Equal Franchise Act. Until the passage of the act, only women over 30 could vote in British elections.
Clifton R. Adams was 38 years old when he took these pictures. He photographed many other European countries, as well as Central and North America, working for National Geographic from 1920 until his death in 1934, aged just 44.
