#3 TIP #2

Hi! My Second Tip how to learn English is this:
Singers say that singing is 90% listening. The same with learning a language.)))
Moreover, it is really beneficial to listen to THE SAME piece a lot of times and I strongly recommend this to you. Here are the reasons why to listen to the same thing in English
MANY-MANY TIMES:
1. The words, phrases and even whole sentences STAY in your mind and will come up when you need them. In this way you memorize new vocabulary and its correct pronunciation
2. You start to understand how sentences are made in English. This helps you to make up YOUR OWN sentences when you are speaking and not translate word for word Ukrainian sentences. This really make no sense in English and it is difficult to understand what you really mean.
3. You see how MUCH you can say with the vocabulary you already know.
The next question is what to listen to to and where to take necessary activities? Here is the answer:
1. Listening tasks from your English classes. Listen to them again and again as many times as you like.
2. Any video in English your teacher recommended in class or you found on YouTube on your own.
3.  Look for English podcasts on the Internet. There are many podcasts designed especially for English learners. You can listen to podcasts from your phone (if you have necessary applications on it (e.g. iTunes) or download them to your computer.
4. A book. Look for a book with a CD (in a bookshop, on the Internet or ask your teacher to give something to you). Be careful with the language level you need. The book can be a lower level, but it should`t be too difficult. And remember that you are welcome to listen to the same book more than once. When you are listening to it for the first time, you are just trying to understand the book. BUT when you are listening for the second time you are actually memorizing the vocabulary, the grammar and the manner of speech. To make this task even easier, read the book first and listen to it after reading.
5. A textbook. Find a Student`s Book with CDs available on the Internet, download it and do as many listening activities there as you like. Answers to the tasks can be found in Teacher`s Book.))

And the last question here is: When, where and how to listen to English? My advice is USE EARPHONES. This makes it possible to listen anywhere and at any time: on the bus, at home, at work, on your way home or to work, while travelling, doing housework, or just walking.
Do you like the tips? Which one do you find most useful? Let me know in the comments section!
Any questions? You are welcome to ask here!
